  1. Absolutely! As I,and now Mark Hubbard would say, Onwards and Upwards Comrades!
  2. Amen to that GridKnocker!
  3. It's definitely a prison Biomech! HMP Hereford, awaiting the first guests!
  4. Equality Streets - got it! And I am with Rebecca, definately prefer this option!
  5. Hmmm. I have been pondering this for a while now. I think our only option is to collectively pray to the God For Household Seasoning, that this vision disappears! Realistically, we are never going to get an airport. Worse still, we don't have any toilets!! No. This just isn't going to work in our favour. Can you imagine the reviews on Trip Advisor???? The mind boggles....!!!
  6. A very warm welcome to you Amanda! Great to see you posting on here!
  7. H, you are, I believe, quite correct! Ffffffffiona will be Fffffflipping Ffffffuming!!!!!
  8. Absolutely agree, Adrian! Hereford Voice is fast becoming THE place to visit for up to date news! Any word on how the Conservatives view this outcome??
  9. Ten out of ten Colin! Superb - thanks for posting this most elusive of updates!!
  10. This is a very serious subject, Bobby. We would all do well not to dismiss this vision. If Christ himself can appear on a piece of toast, then why not Mary Magdalene on the salt covered walls of the OLM?? I sense a whole new tourist industry could spring forth.... Airport for Hereford anyone...?? To cope with the influx of curious visitors??
  11. Thanks for those reassuring words Biomech! I always think, before I post - but now I think twice before sticking my two pence worth in to certain discussions!!
  12. And Martin, almost forgot, absolutely LOVE E-Quality Street! Brilliant! I can see where your coming from with the whole Hereford Re-United thing, I guess my only reservation would be that if folk saw this name at a glance, their first thought would be that the group was something to do with the football team - it kind of associates itself with that, whereas Lights Out! does what it says on the tin. I'm sure somebody will come up with something brilliant!
  13. Brilliant post John! A really inforfmative and useful read. As I said previously, what we have at present is no more than organised chaos - its time to think a little differently. We have absolutelt nothing to lose, but perhaps an awful lot to gain. All power to you!
  14. Sounding good so far! I really don't think we have anything to lose - what we have at present is pretty chaotic. Martin, out of interest, the other cities that have implemented this shared space idea, do they already have bypasses in place? I ask this because of the sheer volume that passes through - does the amount of traffic make a marked difference as to how a scheme such as this would work? Sorry to bombard you with questions on your first post, but I am really interested in this! Oh! And where are my manners??? Welcome to the site!!!
  15. Blimey Colin! If that not an incentive to keep up your good work, I don't know what is!!!
  16. Good Grief! An error in the HT's report? How extremely unusual!!!
  17. Excellent point Will! If you know Hereford at all, you'll know to avoid this at all costs! I regularly travel from the Aylestone Hill area back to Whitecross, and avoid Steels roundabout like the plague!
  18. What about... (Traffic)LIGHTS! (Traffic)CAMERA'S! (Traffic) ACTION...????
  19. Grid Knocker! We are so on the same wavelength on this! Dedicated Tress would be wonderful....to mark an event, to remember a loved one, or simply to say that you give a damn and want to improve what we have for everyone to enjoy!! I wish they would do this with the seating in High Town - those metal seats are dreadful!
  20. Well done Colin, and thanks for reporting back to us so promptly! Has any sort of timescale been hinted at??
  21. Yes - what I was going to post was that I thought there was a separate trial for these offences....then worried I might be making a comment I shouldn't, so deleted it. I have been called "irresponsible" once, its not going to happen twice!
  22. And you argument against using a horse and cart is.....?? Seriously though, you are correct. It's ridiculous that day to day journeys take this long. And you are also correct about the way traffic bunches up, which may be another reason why people keep hap-hazardly swapping lanes.
  23. Church Street is how it should be done - it's fabulous! I travel around in my little camper van, and when I mention to folk I live in Hereford, if they have visited our City, Church Street and the Farmers Market/Butter Market, are usually the highlights of High Town for them. A few years back, Left Bank also used to get mentioned a lot....many are surprised when I tell them how that is looking these days. "But it was beautiful" they say, with bemused expressions on their faces. I can only agree...it was.
  24. Perhaps it has all gone pear shaped, and Colin is holding them in a locked room until his demand are met....????
  25. This is,quite literally, allowing the rot to set in. Absolute nonsense.Listed buildings need to be protected - but they also need to be useful and functional. If not, they will slide into such a state of decline, they will be beyond saving. This is so short sighted.
