  1. Where are the "up to 800 homes" that were supposed to be on the "Urban Village" development??? A mix of housing, from 1 bed flats, to 4 bed town houses, and a 60 bed care home. Are these coming after the extortionately priced link road to nowhere has been completed??? The plans for this "village" are dire. A complete lack of imagination or innovative design. It really stands for what urban development SHOULDN'T look like. However, planning was granted back in 2013, I believe..... and apart from a few on Conningsby Street...... very little has happened.
  2. Oh those photos.....what an absolute disgrace. This county is soon going to disappear underneath a huge mound of refuse. Where has people's pride in where they live gone???
  3. A report on Hereford Civic Society's vision for Herefordshire, will be on BBC Midlands Today at 6.30pm. Just heard the trailer for it!
  4. Good grief Denise! You couldn't make it up, could you?? It's like something from a Harry Enfield sketch.
  5. According to Wikipedia, 95% of Cambodians, are practising Buddhists. Worldwide, there are 350 million practising Buddhists. As a people, they have religion and spirituality, and Buddhism has been the religion of this country for thousands of years. Some sources place it's origin as early as the 3rd century BC. Why do Freedom Church feel the need to "convert" folks to their idea of what is the "right" God?? Read The Three Signs Of Being. The Four Noble Truths. The Noble Eightfold Path. This is truly enlightening as a guide - should you want one - as to how to lead your life. And in my opinion, a much preferred alternative to what Freedom Church are peddling.
  6. Well.... we'll have to agree to disagree on this one Glenda! I'll say no more.
  7. Has anything become any more transparent???? An interesting comment over on HT from the mighty Simon Brown, about parish councillors in the Borders.
  8. And the fact that you chose to post misleading comments which seemed to shoot yourself in the foot, is not MY problem. You would do well to revisit several threads Glenda. I could go on, but to be honest, I really can't be bothered. Politicians eh? All the bloody same.
  9. Thank you, Ubique, I have no intention of starting a "war of words" with Glenda - that really isn't my style - but I felt sure that others would have read her comments, and interpreted them as I did.
  10. Glenda, given the words that you yourself have typed, I don't think I'm alone in forming this impression. Perhaps you need to select the words you use, with a little more care? I'm quite happy to hold up my hands if I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Sadly, councillors - and ex councillors - seem to find admitting they may have made an error, is virtually impossible. Lapping up praise, kind words and compliments, yet turn decidedly prickly, when any action, word or deed is questioned. It's the same right across the board. I'm no longer surprised by it.
  11. It was post number six, July 31st...so just two days ago.... where you stated. "Having got in touch with the tenant living next door to this house, this evening" And then followed on with.... "I have now given the tenant the phone number of Cllr Edwards, and asked her to keep me informed as to the outcome. If nothing is done, this will be one of many issues that will be taken up when The Residents Association for Newton Farm, is launched in a few weeks time". Then, post number 19, which was only yesterday, you said... "I asked the tenant to let me know the outcome from contacting Phil Edwards. She has not come back to me, so I take that to be he has not responded to her request for help." This is what gave me the impression that you felt the problem should be dealt with by Cllr Edwards in a couple of days/ weeks.
  12. I believe council tax was raised, by 1.9%. An increase of 2% or more, would have triggered a referendum?
  13. Oh my goodness. I hadn't heard the news. How terribly sad. RIP.
  14. Afternoon Glenda. I am in no way a "fan" of Phil Edwards. I do not know the man, so have no strong feelings - either way - about him. My very simple point, which you spectacularly seem to be missing is ....when you and others have been unable to resolve an issue for SIX years, surely it is unfair to expect Cllr Edwards - or anybody else for that matter - to be able to fix it in a matter of days. I honestly don't think I can state this point in any fewer syllables. This is not a personal criticism, Glenda.... which is how you appear to have taken my comments, it's stating the facts.
  15. Glenda, I am in no position to offer an opinion on how quick - or otherwise - Cllr Edwards will work to resolve this issue. I'm merely pointing out that it seems a tad unfair to expect him to have this sorted in a matter of days, when many others, yourself included, have had no success in six years. That is all I'm trying to get across.
  16. What hope indeed, Roger.
  17. But Glenda, like I say, it doesn't sound as if this tenant has had any success in getting anybody to help sort this issue out! Those who have known about this problem for six years surely must take a little responsibility for it not being resolved?? It reminds me a little of that other eyesore, The Whitehouse Pub. Marcelle Lloyd Hayes trumpeting her attempts to move this project forward in her election bumph, yet precisely nothing seems to be happening..... it is still a monstrosity, and has been for well over four years! Perhaps the tenant should contact Phil Smart?? His tenacious approach may well get this problem sorted! Fair play to Phil, he sticks with issues until they're resolved. That's one of the things I like about him.
  18. Ah, Megilleland! Always to be relied upon in a Handy Link Crisis!
  19. Well, if you've had no joy sorting it out over the past six years, Glenda,I'm not sure how much joy you think Phil Edwards will have had in the last few days. Sounds like it is a problem which has been known about for quite some time, and filed in the "too difficult" pile by various folks.
  20. Ah yes. The pie which was welded to the plate. I have no comment to make. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones........ my cooking is atrocious!
  21. Fifteen years! Blimey. I know things move slowly in Hereford, but fifteen years is a very long time. I wouldn't want to be living next door to that. Glenda, at what point were you first aware that there was an issue with this property?? And following on, at what point in the past were environmental health in discussions with the owner??
  22. The Civic Society have put forward their vision for Hereford, both in terms of housing and transport. There's quite a good write up on HT, but my usual technical incompetence prohibits a handy link being added! Interesting to note that they are talking shared space, an Eastern river crossing and electric trams! Have they been reading this thread on Hereford Voice, I wonder......!
  23. Interesting news item, over at HT. It would appear that Addaction are to provide the substance misuse programme from December. This is currently being provided by The 2gether Foundation Trust. I wonder if there are plans afoot to replace them as providers for CAMHS services.....????
  24. Silence really is golden....

  25. Good grief! What are you implying???? Hand on heart, I have never gyrated in front of a web cam! Perish the thought! (Mind you; times are hard.... .....!)
