Hello there! I've been told by two people that it has! At least one of those, I have every reason to believe has done this.
-
It still needs to be investigated though. From the research I did at the time, it was completely unacceptable. If things like this are allowed to pass by unchecked, then come the next elections it could be a significant issue in several wards. Rules are there for a reason!
-
Agreed Ragwert. At the moment it is a monument to ugliness. The residents who have to live with this mess are quite rightly sick to the back teeth of looking at it. A few of the older local residents that I have spoken to, also don't do "on line" stuff, so feel that they have not had any communication regarding what precisely is happening with this "project", and I use that term in the loosest possible way. Knocking it down and starting again would be no bad thing, and if affordable housing replaced it, so much the better. Giving folks a place to call home, surely should be a priority??
-
Marcelle Lloyd Hayes appeared to be claiming "credit" for this project, in her election literature. (Although I'm entirely unsure what credit is due.) The place is still an eye sore, and local residents are as fed up as ever. Is there any Cllr from Tupsley who would care to add a comment?? The planning application from Aylestone has now gone in, so I assume something is still in the pipeline for the nursery..... but what about all those grants/funds that have already been raised? Do they go to the St Paul's coffers, towards the 25 grand they want to replace the church heating?? Anyone??
-
And the Freedom Church leaflet, Chris? Endorsing a candidate? You seem to have omitted to answer that point!
-
That sounds like a positive step forward, Glenda.
-
I'd definitely agree with your last sentence, Chris...... but why is it, that this feeling of unease I get, only seems to surround Freedom Church? I go on my instincts and intuition. They are pretty darned reliable!

Re reading this letter.... The first paragraph beneath the bullet points.... "The charges for these five public, open space areas and the playground equipment, is split equally between all of the HHL and non HHL properties, within The Oval development.(Excluding the flats and houses on Beattie Avenue, as they have their own open space in Hunderton.)" A couple of things spring to mind.... 1. They are public spaces. This is stated. So are the residents expected to pay for everybody to use them?? The first time I read it, I was assuming communal areas.... there is a significant difference between a public area, and a communal area. 2. It's worded very divisively. As in, you pay for your side, Hundertons area is over there. From this, are we to take it that Oval folks shouldn't venture to the Hunderton space, and Hunderton folks should keep away from the Oval space?? This doesn't sound very inclusive, let alone neighbourly! Can you imagine the hassle, if Oval residents suspected that Hunderton residents had damaged play equipment (or vice versa) and had to pay an increased charge because of this??? There would be uproar. None of this seems to have been thought through. We know that Cllr Phil Edwards reads these threads, now would be a really good time to comment..... your constituents need YOU!

Too late, Ragwert. I ventured out earlier with the dog. Not a pretty sight.

I love Pink Floyd. Their Dark Side Of The Moon album remains one of my all time favourites. I first listened to it in my angst ridden teenage years, and really thought it was all about me. I had a mixed bunch of friends at the time.... punks, Goths, we were a motley crew! One, who had the most fabulous multi coloured Mohican, listened to this a lot..... and then we all kind of had it on repeat! I listened to it again in my twenties/thirties, and had a much better perspective of the lyrics. Now, in my forties, I think I truly get it. I can't listen to "Brain Damage" without getting a tear in my eye. I think about my pals from those days. A few are no longer with us. My mohicanned friend sadly passed away some years ago. RIP my friend. You're still much missed by many.

Oh how funny! Colins "shortcuts" have meant that B....B. gun, has come up as Balfour Beatty! Apologies for that.... too late now to edit.

What a lovely letter, written from the heart. Kamals will definitely be much missed, as it's become part of the fixtures and fittings of Hereford, but I wish Mr Ali all the very best, and hope he enjoys a long and healthy retirement.

Personally, I cannot believe that anybody could be so idiotic as to wave a BB gun around. This is in close vicinity to a school, and is a very busy area. I myself walked through about 3.00pm, and there were lots of folks sitting on the grass enjoying the sunshine. I hope whoever this was is suitably punished, and doesn't get away with a slap on the wrist.

Reports state that a man has been arrested for allegedly brandishing what appeared to be a handgun, at members of the public in the grounds of Hereford Cathedral yesterday afternoon. It turned out to be a BB gun, though if one was waved at me in a threatening manner, I would be unable to distinguish, and would be in fear of my life. The arrest was made within seven minutes of receiving the call. Well done, to our local policing team for dealing with this so quickly.

I'm still wondering if we'll hear anything about our local election/canvassing anomalies. Namely the Freedom Church political flier, endorsing the conservative candidate, and election leafleting taking place on the morning of voting in the Bobblestock area. As anyone who follows this forums discussions will know, these weren't the only concerns. When the result in several wards came down to a handful of votes, these issues matter! I'd also like to know why Glenda was down as being unaffiliated...... she has said herself she's Independant, and should have been listed as being so. I think this may have caused confusion for some voters who perhaps are new to the area, and were unaware of Glenda's work locally??

I'll have a wander up The Ash Path later..... much used, but out of sight!

Fraudulent banks, utility companies and corrupt courts

It would seem from the planning application, that Bodenham Manor is being sold to the chap who wants to knock it down?? He says on the application that informal consultation has already taken place with the parish council, but doesn't mention what their views are. This seems rather drastic, demolishing it?? The applicant intends to build a new dwelling, however this is a conservation area, although I don't believe Bodenham Manor is listed. -
Money, money, money.

Well.... The Forge won't be available for wedding bookings on the weekend of August 19th, as they are having a Youth Group get together, so I'm told. What fun! And only £110.00 per place. Gosh. That's a big percentage of pocket money gone.......
-
Yes, Toroidal, tithes. In 2015. Hard to believe that so many folks still think there a good idea, a ticket to heaven..... Yet apparently quite a few do......a good 10% anyway!
-
I can't decide why these "roles" are voluntary to begin with. Is it to see if the successful applicant fits in with the Freedom Church way of doing things? Or is it to deter 'outside' applicants from applying, because they only really want to recruit from within the fold?? I can't quite make up my mind.
-
And so the net is cast ever further.
-
Blimey! This is daylight robbery! And this is "the early years"... Payments will go up year on year ad infinitum. Complete rip off. I'd suggest a strongly worded email to Phil Edwards, letting him know your feelings on this, and please post any response you receive on here.

A good thought..... still needs staff to organise and enable this sort of "exchange". And generally staff from (possibly probation, youth offending wherever) need paying! I do think that some types of anti social behaviour would be best dealt with via a short, sharp shock. It has to be swift, no messing around with courts etc. a sort of cause and effect type of thing. Police/housing associations/ Councils should be able to give some sort of "Community Cohesion" order, where ASB is dealt with in a more effective manner. If there have been issues with the elderly, for example, perhaps a "work experience" in a nursing home, might help the offender view their actions through another eyes. Sadly, most things boil down to money. And there's none in the pot for this sort of initiative. Thankfully, the council have various methods of acquiring funds for unnecessary roads.......... People will never be a priority for any Conservative led party, be that local or national.

Good point, Adamski. It's never been easier to change your banking provider, with many offering switching services with incentives to do so. Customers will vote with their feet!
