  1. I'm just loving The Shack Revolution pizzas! Happy Days are most definately here again!!!

  2. This caused chaos the last time it happened.... which wasn't that long ago. Two of my offspring have NatWest accounts, and both were affected, having to resort to The Bank Of Mum And Dad to tide them over. The local NatWest branch in Broad Street, were spectacularly unhelpful. Let's hope they deal with the problem in a better manner this time..... and RESOLVE it properly, so that it doesn't occur again.
  3. Ahhh! Gridknocker! A blast from the past. This was all to do with Cllr. Pat Morgan's obsession with selling off the County's assets. Bobby was most concerned that this epidemic of flogging off things which didn't belong to her was going to get out of hand. I was moved to write a poem..... "Ode To The Member For Assets And Corporate Services." Our Bobby stood, rod in hand, Upon the banks of The Wye. He was taking a drag, Of his hand rolled f.a.g, When something caught his eye. From the shadows,a woman stepped, A smile she tried to crack, Then with an ear piercing cackle, She made a grab for his tackle, But Our Bobby, he fought back! "Let me sell it" pleaded she, But Bobby made a stand. "Back off Trish, I'm here to fish!" And he wrestled his rod from her hand. Patricia knew that she'd been beat, And shuffled off into the night. Bobby cradled his rod, And gave thanks to his God, Twas a moving and memorable sight. By. D. Hippy.
  4. The problem then is that areas become ghettoised, and no go areas. I absolutely appreciate the point you make about children/families, but I don't feel that segregation is the answer. There have got to be better options, and I'm sure there are. But they invariably involve time and money..... two things in very short supply, in these austere times.
  5. Afternoon, Adrian! I think I may like The Shack a little too much..... I've been again! They also do a very nice salad! The coffee is also very good, and there are a decent selection of both soft and alcoholic drinks! There's a very pleasant outdoor seating area, just right for this time of year. It would be a very boring world if we all enjoyed eating/drinking the same sort of thing! Difference is good! ( Sometimes I find lots of crowds and having to wait for a table etc. a bit off putting, I prefer a more laid back, and informal setting, so you're not alone there!) Give it a try next time you're out and about, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Take care.
  6. Now THAT'S what I call a mower! Reminds me of someone....... Pat Morgan possibly...?????
  7. An interesting snippet of information there, Harry! Many thanks for sharing.
  8. Doesn't this fall into Chris Chappell's ward?? Might be worth sending him a pm??? I share your sense of frustration. Nightmare neighbours cause a lot of anxiety. My son and his partner have moved into a lovely little house, with my little dot of a grandchild. They both work very hard. They are busy sorting out the garden. Their neighbours have two, very large, very aggressive dogs, who seem to hurl themselves at the fence. This is causing an awful lot of worry. The dogs are roaming around outside for the majority of the time. My son has spoken to the neighbours, but hasn't got anywhere. What do you do?? He doesn't feel the garden is ever going to be a truly "safe" place. It's so true....you can choose your friends, you can ignore your family.... but you can't escape from your neighbours.
  9. Following on.......I'm only surprised that nobody else has commented on it, Denise!
  10. Good to see the BID team have agreed with some of us posters! The first thing they are doing is a "deep clean" of High Town, with empty shop fronts and windows being given a bit of a lick and polish! I wonder if they will tackle the disgusting Chadds building?? I also wonder whether the Chadds family will be shamed into contributing towards the costs??
  11. £32000.00 council tax, written off, because landlords went bankrupt. Yet they make ordinary residents lives a misery, with threats of legal action and bailiffs, if a payment isn't made. That sounds fair and proportional, doesn't it?
  12. I've only just spotted this post, Denise. Nice to see that Jesse has his vulnerable constituents best interests at heart..... We all know that lack of funding from central (Conservative) Government, will mean BIG cuts to local services. Still, this obviously matters very little to the "I'm all right, Jack" Tory voters. They care not one jot.
  13. Afternoon Adrian! Try The Shack Revolution, in Bastion Mews! Handmade pizza, absolutely delicious! Locally sourced, and seasonal ingredients used..... veggie options are fantastic. Prices £6.00 - £9.00 I found them big enough to share.... which makes them even better value! Service is friendly, and the surroundings very chilled out! Try it, I highly recommend it! (And Nutters or The Rocket Café, up Church Street!)
  14. Brilliant, Dilligaf! Really made me chuckle!
  15. Didn't they buy this because they already own a parcel of land up there, but without access? If somebody else had bought The Three Elms Trading Estate, they would have an expensive piece of land, with no right of access to it! Somebody, somewhere made a huge mistake..... but as usual, nobody will be held accountable, and the good old taxpayer will pick up the bill. Still, with all of these highly salaried positions now being filled, I'm sure this sort of error won't happen again.......
  16. With respect, Glenda, both Bobby and myself joined up from The Hereford Times.... neither of us were banned. Nor was Flam. I made a comment on another thread saying that I missed several SPECIFIC posters contributions. I was not - and would not - criticize Colin, and how he runs this forum. He has my utmost respect for the job he does. For you to imply otherwise is not on.
  17. GDJ! My magic wand..... it works! It really works!
  18. I'm sure they do, Col. I just wish I had a magic wand that worked,to bring them all back!
  19. Me too, Colin. But I think it will be a long wait.
  20. I'm not saying they've left Colin..... after all, in the forum rules it states that once you're accepted as a member, it will stand..... so I'm not sure any of us can ever leave!! But, they aren't posting are they??? And neither Flam or Paul have logged in since that episode. I just miss them, that's all.
  21. With respect, I think some of you are missing the point. If folks don't contribute, the forum becomes stale. The posters who seem to have left, all made regular contributions. That's why they have left such a big gap. Without being rude to anybody, some "long standing" members only pipe up when a refuse collection has been missed, or the traffic is worse than usual.
  22. I don't believe you need to be a "long standing" member, to make valuable and regular posts. I wasn't just referring to Paul, but just to make the point that in a relatively short time, he added an awful lot. I'm sure the forum will "survive" without Paul, Bobby and Flam...... but it won't be as good, because THEY all posted!
  23. I wouldn't hold your breath, Cambo!
  24. Yes, Colin. I know they log in, I am in touch with Bobby. But I think it will be quite some time until Bobby or Flam contribute again. Paul never will. I just think it's a real shame that valued, regular contributors have gone..... and some of those who seemed pleased to see the back of Paul, and were very vocal at the time, have barely said a peep since. A forum is only as vibrant and varied, as members contributions. It cannot be carried by a handful.
