  1. Definitely the safest and most sensible option, Ragwert!
  2. As a poster at HT has remarked, this cinema/night club site, had been rumoured to have been earmarked by the new university. Given the furore with Freedom Church at Swansea Uni, I would hope there aren't going to be "links" between these two organisations....????
  3. The Safe From Slavery group?? Run by a Sue Carter. Is this the same Sue Carter who worked for 2XL??? The "Youth Group" funded by the council, run from Freedom Church by several Freedom Church members??
  4. Interesting. Remind me again of the name of the conservative ward councillor for Saxon Gate???
  5. I think this is a very worrying development. People really need to wake up and smell the coffee on this one. I would hope the ward councillor will have some searching questions about this.....
  6. How funny! My other half has just told me that Hereford Times are running a poll on their Facebook page, "Do you think the UK should remain a member of the EU?" Hmmm. Let me see. I wonder where they got that idea from....??
  7. Good grief, Pete! Now you mention it, I can see what you mean.
  8. I'll second that! Actually, I think either TWG or Ragwert would make an excellent job!
  9. Brilliant, Ragwert! I also think these pages are read by many.....!
  10. According to "The Economist" the wording has already been agreed. Following debate about how the referendum in Scotland was worded....(they eventually settled upon "Should Scotland leave the United Kingdom?") The wording for the referendum due at some point in 2017 will be...." Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the United Kingdom?" At least this is a closed question, without too much ambiguity.....!
  11. Given the result of the election, both local and national, I'd say we are more divided as a country than ever before, Green Knight. The gaping chasm between the haves and the have nots, has never been greater. And more folk than ever before appear to not give a toss about anybody who is vulnerable in anyway. This selfish, self serving attitude of so many folks these days, is the one thing that will eventually be the ruin of this country for many people. I have no idea what will put the "Great" back into Great Britain. I'm equally sure that The Conservatives don't either.
  12. Incredible. It's about three grand more than George Osborne!
  13. With regard to the "Chile" link..... Jesse Norman visited Chile, on a book plugging tour....." The Great Society " (Irony, anyone????) Though quite why a country with such a reputation for Human Rights violations would be on the list of must visit places on this literary tour,is anybody's guess. Hay on Wye? Yes. Chile? Err. No.
  14. I did wonder that exact same thing, Denise!!
  15. Blimey! There's a second page of private donors..... and guess what? Harry appears again...... another £3000.00 Quite staggering! Then there's the man with a lot of clout at Tesco... John Hoerner. He coughed up £25,270.80....then a further £3,735.80!
  16. Makes for bizarre reading, doesn't it Dan???
  17. Very, very interesting! I've done this search for our very own Jesse Norman, basically because I am a very nosy person. I make no apologies for this, being naturally nosy can have reap it's own rewards!. Why - in the column for private donors - does it show that none other than Harry Bramer, has put his hand in his pocket and paid £2,700.00 ?? Is this even allowed?? If it is, it shouldn't be......
  18. Good evening, Colin! Thanks for posting the photo! I don't suppose you happened to notice which building contractor/development company is working on this did you???
  19. Evening Duffy. Many thanks for posting on this thread. It's much appreciated. And welcome to Hereford Voice.
  20. Page one, post number 22.....info on the assistance Jonathon Bretherton provided.
  21. Agreed, Roger. And a short term solution is never going to solve a long term problem...... which makes me think about the SLR.....will folks ever learn????
  22. And I would absolutely agree with you there, Roger. Forward thinking, forward planning and shared space should always have been the main aim. It would have saved a small fortune.
  23. Evening, Dilligaf! Welcome to Hereford Voice. Can you share with the group, this information???
  24. All part of the plan, Cambo. See post 29 page 1. Interesting to note.... 1."Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees." 2." The charity is exempt from tax on it's charitable activities."
  25. That's you and me both then, Ragwert! It's nice to dream....!
