  1. Again, Ubique, thanks. It was Greyfriars result I was interested in, Tim Price was standing....a good bloke. I've had a look, and...... ......I've found it. Sharon Michaels. Just when I thought my weekend couldn't get any worse.
  2. Thanks for the info on the demonstrations......I obviously sympathise with the cause, but cannot condone the vandalising of a memorial. That sort of action will not help.
  3. Could I beg a favour?? Try as I might, I cannot find the parish council results. Any chance someone could point me in the right direction, I want to know if Tim Price was successful.
  4. Good Lord. I knew nothing of this?? And you're right, Ragwert, there hasn't been a mention of this on the news today. Those poor souls on the floor look none too comfy....
  5. Whatever our own thoughts/opinions are on these results.....I honestly feel that the folks who post regularly upon these pages, do so because we all love this wonderful county that we live in. No, we don't always necessarily back the same horse... but we do all care deeply. That can only be a good thing.
  6. I'm certainly not saying there's a conspiracy, AV..... but I am suggesting human error. If folks have been given the wrong information/advice at the polling station, this needs to be rectified. Wouldn't you agree with that??
  7. Dazza....you won't be a lone ranger next time..... you will have a queue of folks wanting to help, and I'll be at the front of it. I've forgotten my manners again.... how rude....... welcome to Hereford Voice, The Sacrificial Ham, it's great to have you here.
  8. There seems to be quite a lot of anecdotal evidence that folks were told to put two crosses on a ballot paper in both Widemarsh and Newton Farm wards. Is this going to be challenged?? A lot could ride on the results for these wards??
  9. Hi Glenda, it is US who should be thanking YOU. For your dedication and commitment to your constituents. Your absolutely have all the qualities I would look for, and you will be one hell of a hard act to follow.
  10. It took quite a while, Amanda...... but I have finally got a grip! Ah. The healing power of black coffee and a roll up!
  11. Oh thanks, Ubique, for those kind words..... they mean a lot. I don't know about "untiring energy" though, last night I was only good for a trip to the knackers yard! Bit more with it again today!
  12. Well they had a bloody miraculous result yesterday, knocked the turning water into wine episode into a cocked hat..... someone's prayers have been answered.
  13. Morning Adrian! In a word..... Yes. I have to believe that. However, things are going to need to be done differently, and I think they will in the future. It's not enough these days, to appear a few weeks before an election and announce you are standing. No matter how good the intentions, what good you have achieved for your community, and how decent you are as an individual..... you have to use the time in between elections to really hammer home the fact that you STAND for something. It sounds crass, but it really is like building a brand..... Team IOC. Putting, that face, that name and that party together. Linking it all, in peoples minds. And of course, working with like minded Independents to ensure this splitting of the vote never happens again. Some truly wonderful individuals have stepped forward this election. Standing with the sole aim of doing what is right for their community. Let's hope that they continue.
  14. Morning Dazza. Your post raised some interesting points..... and no, you don't sound like a bad loser! In my humble opinion, folks like the familiar, a familiar name is a name they think they can trust. It's wrong, but this is what people think. It really is all about raising your profile, becoming known as not just Darrell who works hard for the community, but Darrell who works hard for the community AND represents IOC. In short, blowing your own trumpet a bit, whilst waving an IOC flag! Folks HAVE to make that connection...... so that when they see it written on their ballot paper, they are reassured that they "know" this person, and are confident to put a cross in the box. Please stand again. You have so much to offer.
  15. A wonderful post from you, Paul.... as was Mikes earlier one. You will both continue to have my support in the future. If we can take anything from yesterdays awful results, it has to be that working together must be the way forward.
  16. I think I'll join you, Amanda. Once I've sobered up!
  17. I need to put down the wine, and go to bed. What a day. What as bloody day......
  18. Good for you, Glenda! Keep that fighting spirit!
  19. That's lovely, Bobby. I'm sure Chris will take you up on that offer.
  20. I'm on my second bottle of red and have consumed a multi pack of Mars Bars - all nutritional groups covered. With the hangover I'll have tomorrow..... that Costa slate may take a hammering. I shall be in desperate need of a black coffee..... or three!
  21. I desperately want that to happen, Jimbo. Why stand against good Councillors??? Surely the greater good has got to be at the fore now?? Put the strongest, and best candidates forward. Sort the wheat from the chaff. Work together for Hereford's future. Please.
  22. Congratulations, Chris.... you must be so happy.... and so exhausted! It's a wonderful gesture offering to help the non Tory candidate in Saxon Gate, and one I'm sure will be seized upon.
  23. Evening Amanda...... if there is any doubt about the validity of the result in Widemarsh.....it simply has to be challenged. You were so very close. If there are any issues.....a by election must be called.
  24. Gutted about the local election result. But....we shall return, bigger, better, stronger and with a cunning Plan B!

  25. Hello Glenda, Thanks for taking the time to post, on what must be a dreadful evening. I so feel for you. You are right at the heart of the community you have served so well, and I'm so very shocked and disappointed by the result. In months to come, I predict regret amongst many, who failed to put a cross against your name. You should have the thanks of many, for all that you have done and achieved.
