I'd take Kermit over Cameron any day of the week!

Precisely £24.00 per month. Much less than a tenth! Oxfam and Dogs Trust are two of my three regulars!

Seb, you're a very similar age to one of my much loved off spring. I read your post, and with my parents hat on, I would say "Well done. Brilliant. This is a kind and lovely thing that you have done. I applaude your community spirit, and your work ethic." In short, I would be very, very proud of you. However, I have to take off my parents hat, and put on my voters hat. Then I have to point out that under this government, those folks who are homeless, those folks who rely on food banks, and those folks who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or disabled..... are far, far worse off now. I do think your heart is in the right place, I just feel as both a parent and a voter, that you need a few more years of life experience under your belt. Take care.

An interesting article on HT. An eleven year project to clear the River Wye of litter is due to come to an end. The item goes into detail about the precisely what was found. They conclude by saying that "60% of the litter collected from upstream of Hereford was of agricultural origin."

I'm not sure there's enough room in that shrubbery for the Council Cabinet to gather, is there???

A friend of mine walks her dogs on The Lugg Flats. On Tuesday, one of the dogs ended up at the vets having slashed it's paw very badly on broken glass. Two hundred and fifty pounds later, my friend says it was possibly the most expensive dog walk ever.

Double post...... apologies to all!

Eeeek! Please don't mention rats in the same sentence as Charcoal Grill! I'm having a veggie burger from there tonight...... that thought is putting me right off!

Hello there Roger, nice to hear from you. Obviously I only speak for myself...... I have no issues whatsoever with anybody's colour, creed, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference....... etc etc. I do have an issue with how this "business", because that's what I see it as being, operates. Many have described this group as a cult, who take advantage of folk when they are at a vulnerable place in their lives. It is THIS that I have an issue with. There is another thread covering this subject, please take the time to read it. It explains many of the reasons why I feel extremely uneasy about this particular group.

Hi Pete, welcome to Hereford Voice. This sounds like a good thing you're trying to get going. I wish you well with this project.

Brilliant video, from the incomparable John Lennon. Truth, and indeed trust, is really what it all boils down to. This has to be the basis for moving forward..... which pretty much rules out The Conservatives. Both locally and nationally.

"Nothing to hide, nothing to fear?" This could happen to you.

Hi Amanda, I just want to wish Julian well for tomorrow. Take care. -
Blimey Growl, now I am wandering down memory lane! I remember St Marys Hospital really well. We lived out that way, and as kids me and my brother would cycle to St Marys, wander around, make ourselves a drink in the little kitchens off the main corridor, and chat with the patients in the dayrooms, or in the grounds if it was warm enough! This was late seventies early eighties, I would have been about eight or nine! Our parents never knew, they would have given us both a good hiding! It was a great place to be when you wanted to "play out" but the weather was rotten. I can't imagine that happening today. (Apologies Ubique for wandering off!)

Hello Growl! I remember the horse chestnut tree.... it was a very sad day when that one came down. I never understood who actually made the decision for that.... It's a strange thing with this building, as I said I'm pretty sure it's been sold a few times.... but always ends up being back on the market. I really enjoyed your reminiscing..... I'd give you a green press, but Colin has explained to me that without having my java enabled I can't at the moment! When I get it sorted..... I'll return!

McCarthy and Stone have built a lot of retirement homes, on the plot around the corner next to Lord Scudamore school. Between this development, and the ramming in of properties on the Eye Hospital site, Lord Scudamore school is quite literally surrounded!

Hi Ubique. The Victoria Eye Hospital was redeveloped into rather expensive apartments some years ago. They kept the original building, which is beautiful, but then squashed an awful lot of new build properties onto the site as well! I think the building you are referring to is next door. I believe it is an old Health Authority building, which is now surplus to requirements. I think this site has been bought and sold quite a few times over the past few years. Hope this helps.

Watching the news last night, it was difficult to comprehend some of the images I was watching. The fisherman, carrying a dead child from the sea was enough to move me to tears. Horrific situation. So many innocent lives lost.

Why would you hide it, if you didn't think it an issue?? Why would anyone avoid answering a direct question, if there wasn't a problem?? PM me Jim, we could exchange notes!
-
You may be closer to the mark than you think Jim!

"The shop would sell a similar range of cold food to that on offer in the daytime, including sandwiches and baguettes." Perhaps as she only intends to provide cold snacks, it may be approved?? I like The Buttery.... they are generous with their fillings, and never bat an eye at some of my quirky combinations!

If somebody described themselves as being an "Extension Director at Freedom Church," what precisely, does this entail??? If this is a paid role, then it most definitely should be highlighted to prospective voters.
-
I've bumped the Freedom Church thread back to the front page... so folks don't have to go rummaging for it!
