I'm sure there will be many folk who will want to read the next instalment of this saga. It's probably fair to say, that some may be "anxiously awaiting" the next chapter......

Well, if Harry is delighted, then we surely ALL should be delighted....... after all, when has he ever got anything wrong...???

A very entertaining exchange of views between John Harrington, Amanda Martin and Graham Powell. Great to see John and Amanda asking some awkward questions!

New Black Bins, Max 4 Bags a Fortnight - f*** Off
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Hi Roger, I've walked down this street on bin day before, and it does seem to be mainly bags...... with about 20%of properties having wheelies. As I said in my post, there seems to be a bit of an area where lots of people put their bags out, so it's now impossible to tell which bags belong where! Consequently, nobody is taking responsibility for them. -
Bobby, that's sound advice you have given to Seb. This is what we should all be doing. Turning a blind eye, pretend it's not happening, and throw the whistle blower to the wolves. It's not our problem. Trouble is, as you and I both know, when you have a conscience,(as we do) when you like to see folks held to account, (as we do) when you care about folks who have put their necks on the line(as we do)..... it just isn't possible. We'll more than likely still be trying to highlight this issue in twelve months time. But isn't it better to try to do the right thing, than simply walk away without a backward glance......??? The answer is a resounding Yes! Which is why we continue.....

I would have thought that your complaint surrounding this, should be fully investigated BEFORE any decision is made about court appearances. To me, they are putting the cart before the horse. Surely when - and I say when, not if - your complaint is upheld, there would be no case to answer??? -
New Black Bins, Max 4 Bags a Fortnight - f*** Off
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Out and about in Whitecross this evening, I spotted a pile of 13 black bags, all with red stickers on saying "You have exceeded your black bag allowance." Trouble is, in these little side streets where the bin bags are predominantly put out in groups...... nobody knows whose bags are whose. There may be some who have only put out two.... some have obviously put out a lot more, but not knowing where the bags originated from means they are just going to be left, with nobody taking responsibility for them. With the warm weather over the past few days, the smell when I walked past was already overwhelming. -
"A major high street chain has announced it is cutting the opening hours of its store, on Hereford's Old Market Development," Anybody else heard this??

I've just checked..... it's online now! Excellent letter, by the way Colin!

ATM Machine In The Old Market?
dippyhippy replied to H.Wilson's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
Hi Alex, We did discuss this a while back! If you search "ATM Old Market" there is a thread started by H Wilson, with about thirty comments! Hope this may be useful. Interesting to note there still isn't one.... I'm sure on the original thread, someone had posted that plans were being put in place to site one here. -

Thanks Glenda. That's very thoughtful. I actually know the Independent candidate..... so will make sure I nab him in the pub this weekend!

I've had leaflets from Lucy Hurds, Lib Dem, and Anna Coda, Labour. Sadly..... no knock at the door! My list of questions, stuck to the back of my front door for the past month, remain unasked and unanswered by prospective MP's., as well as councillors......

Hereford Locality Weekly Briefing W/E 10th April 2015
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
Also interesting, two inspections of tripping incidents, resulting in personal injury claims. The state of many pavements in Hereford are a disgrace. To be honest, the only thing that really surprises me is that there aren't more. -
What a difference those properties could make....
-
They have done this in, I think, Stoke on Trent. There were several streets worth of empty, dilapidated properties. The local authority did not have the funds to modernise/bring them up to a decent standard. The area as a whole was in decline, and something needed to be done. These houses were offered to local folks, or folks with a local connection, and who could not get onto the housing ladder, for £1.00. The prospective homeowners had to borrow/ raise, I think it was £15k. to bring the properties up to a habitable standard. There was a written agreement, that should the property be sold within ten years a quite chunky percentage of any profit would have to be paid back to the council...... this ensures that the properties are bought as long term homes for families, not those trying to make a quick buck. There are many abandoned properties locally. Folks are homeless. In 2015 this is SO wrong.

I remember seeing that! Brilliant idea...I hope it's really successful!

Spooky. It sums it up for me. So completely relevant to the times we live in right now. Lennon was a true poet. -
There have been similar issues over the crossing at Debenhams. Folks press the button, to get to the Tesco side, and the traffic quickly backs up onto Steels roundabout. (I do like your thread name.... you get a Well Done sticker for that one!)

"There's room at the top, they are telling you still. But first you must learn how to smile as you kill, If you want to be like the folks on the hill. A working class hero is something to be....." John Lennon. Now there's a song Bobby would do with style..... -
Which is why this needs to be kept on everybody's radar. Hopefully, come May 7th......along with welcoming in IOC, we can welcome in some common sense!

Well if that's their election blurb, I'd say it sounds pretty good. Yes Green Knight...... one full turn of the wheel. Where will that get us........??? (Bobby - in full protest song mode - with tanglewood guitar, up on a table in front of a rapturous audience...... is truly a sight to behold...... so I'm led to believe, anyway!) -

I won't answer then, Amanda..... but I am shaking my head furiously. Hope that helps. -
Hi Seb, I love your enthusiasm, and I think it's great that you have joined this thread......I sense many are actively trying to avoid it! However sadly, we have seen this before..... and they will reign you in. This subject seems to be toxic. Everybody says they want to get to the bottom of it, but several shovels have been handed out over the past eighteen months / two years, and it would seem nobody actually wants to dig. I suspect because they know what they would find.
