Hi Slim, great to hear from you again! We do have some hard working ward councillors, who really pull out the stops for their constituents and areas. I agree, more involvement within communities can only be a good thing. It's the countywide issues that are the thorny ones, and also the most complex and costly. The incinerator project for example. All the evidence points to the fact that this is a dreadful idea. Yet.......we seem to be stuck with it. Once again, a handful of people making huge decisions which will take generations to pay for. This cabinet have got to go! Which reminds me......where are we up to with that? It didn't make the agenda for the last meeting........

I also know of a few families who have had their blue badge requests denied. A social worker took up one case, but the appeal was not successful. As with many things affecting those with disabilities, thresholds have been raised and goalposts moved.

Ah Flam! Now there is the most elusive of species! The natural plumage of the Yellow Speckled Alistair, makes him extremely difficult to identify at any time of the year! Many have tried to find him. All but a few have been disappointed.

I was chased by a badger once, down Plough Lane of all places! It was quite scary.....they can't half shift when they are annoyed! Depressing isn't it. Why do they feel the need to throw our money around with such impunity?? They just love to waste it, chuck it away....saddle us, our children and grandchildren with un necessary debt. They never listen, they never learn. Even when it's pointed out to them. They refuse to acknowledge they have ever made a wrong decision, a mistake or even an error of judgement. It is this attitude which will see them out of the door come May.

I read this, and was a tad confused. I had always assumed that the penalty notice/invoice got stuck on the windscreen at the time.....but as this letter states they were sat in their car at the time, this obviously did not happen. Instead they received it through the post.....so is there some sort of camera system in place?? Recording times of entry and exit, as well as car registration number plates??

Well, I want Green Knight back!! We at Hereford Voice have been spoilt rotten recently, with Paul Cardin, John Brace and Growl Tiger all swelling the ranks of regular contributors! Oh Crikey Flam! This is a first for me! I appear to have put my foot in it, and quite unintentionally frightened off a new recruit. This really wasn't what I wanted, and if Mr Knight thinks I have been impolite then of course I offer my apologies. I was merely trying to point out that a sense of humour - even questionable humour! -is one of lifes essentials.

I have had the same thought myself.........me, clearing off I mean, not you! Honestly Mr Knight, I absolutely WANT new posters to contribute, in fact I have pleaded with them to, so please don't take offence when none was meant. There are a multitude of other stories to comment on if this one isn't for you......I would love to hear your views. Warm regards.
