It's Autumn here at Hereford Voice, and it's time to launch Councillor Watch - a new thread to see if any poster can spot a comment from that most rare of species, The Blogging Councillor. In these rural parts, a comment has not been spotted for several weeks...... A rare Conservative comment was identified over at Hereford Times last week, but sadly, in the more familiar habitat of Hereford Voice, we have not been so fortunate of late. Regular visitors to the Hereford Voice environment include The Great Crested Chris Chapell, and The Lesser Spotted Glenda. Neither have been observed recently, leading to speculation of an early hibernation. Conserving their strength, perhaps, for the Spring Battles which take place every four years. We need to encourage them back......please post any tasty morsels you think may tempt them back......or we may think they have become extinct!

Good evening Mr Knight! There are literally hundreds of threads within this forum, many of them on very serious subject matters indeed.Some of us spend time,and put quite a lot of effort into researching, campaigning and generally trying to effect positive changes for Hereford. We then post what we find out. Very few of the 270 members of Hereford Voice, contribute to this forum on a regular basis. Believe me when I say, it's bloody hard work sometimes keeping up any sort of momentum! Now and again, a story lends itself to a touch of humour......and yes, we have a laugh. Please don't knock that.......it can't all be doom and gloom!!

There must be someone with a suitable recording device who would be happy to record this, and hopefully post it on here?? Representations now stand at 57.

Good news! There was a bin on Whitecross Road by Woody's Angling Shop, which was in the same state....that has also been cleared. Perhaps they are having a blitz on bins???

Think carefully before you head for The Wirral - they'll be no thrice weekly trolley dashes around Lidls there you know!!

Oooh! I just love a positive slant! This could work both ways Bobby! When some unfortunate soul falls behind with their council tax, instead of sending out letters threatening bailiffs and court action, wouldn't it be nice to receive instead a letter saying, "whilst you are £500 pounds in arrears,could we take this opportunity of thanking you for the £850 pounds you have paid." Yes, a lovely positive outlook would go a long way!

That's quite an interesting turn of events. Have HT reported on this? I am struggling to get HT online to load properly......they have those huge, screen filling adverts which my little lap top seems to dislike intensely!

I didn't receive that invite!! It's been a while since I originally asked.....but when will we know who intends to stand in May, and who isn't?? I would have thought Councillors would have to declare at some point if they are intending to stand again??

Yes, I'm afraid I would have to decline. I would be happy for anyone on Bobby's list to deliver the three minute speech. I guess the questions to ask are, firstly has anybody done this type of thing before, and who is comfortable doing it?? (Feel free to pm me if you don't want to post your thoughts on the thread.)

Oh.My.God. What on earth is a "horizontally integrated organisational structure based around triage, service processing, specialist advice and customer enabling"?? Anyone? This is all so depressing. Does anybody actually understand this twaddle??

Perhaps you should have worded your original question slightly differently then...... Ahem!!. "Could Councillors please share with Hereford Voice members, their vision for 2015......and whilst you're tapping, explain what the heck is going on with these here bins!" We have a few good eggs who post on here......I am perplexed as to why they have all disappeared at the same time. Perhaps it's some sort of councillor industrial action?!?! They're on strike!

Absolutely Denise. Let's hope it is. A situation like this needs to be handled with extreme sensitivity. It must still be a very tough time for many involved.
