Q: About the Black Wheelies (councillors please?)
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
I have just had a quick look through the most recent threads, and from what I can see, the last councillor to comment on these pages was Glenda, on the nineteenth of September.....17 days ago!! Where are they all hiding I wonder???? -

I can see no change on the immediate horizon Megilleland! My money is on this situation continuing! Clarkester, I'll just put my two pence worth in......sounds like a plan!!

I see that Pound World is opening on Thursday, next to Lidl, on the Brook Retail Park. We seem to have quite a plethora of choices now for spending a pound......Pound Stretcher, Pound Land and Pound World.

Q: About the Black Wheelies (councillors please?)

I tend to agree Biomech! And whilst we posters are quite happy to chip in and try to answer your query, I think you may have a long wait for a response from a councillor......is it just my imagination, or has it been an age since one posted upon these pages?? Is it the contentious threads of late that are frightening them all away??? -
If it weren't for this bloke, HCC's "legal eagle" may never have landed

Good Lord! This is one grumpy individual! What an extremely high handed manner he has. Somebody book him on a "public interfacing" course. Either that, or refresh his memory on the importance of basic good manners! -
I seem to recall reading that August 2014 was the cut off point for them, but God only knows why they have been paid this sum of money.....they haven't done anything for ages!

This is great! Thanks Denise and Cambo for posting the link! -
Blimey! We'd better not send Our Bobby in with a camera then....... "...refraining from editing an image or views expressed, in a way that may ridicule or show lack of respect towards those being filmed or recorded." This could have been written with B47 in mind !!

Found it!! The thread is "That Bomb Site in High Town," On August 25th, the council announced that they were serving a 215 order on the owner of the building. There is a facebook link to a Midlands Today news story, which states that the work should be carried ouT within 3 - 6 months of the order being served. I guess the question is.....has the council served the order yet?????

Wheelie Bins. I've no room for a wheelie bin, Whether green or black. If I get sent a wheelie bin, I will have to send it back. I'll wheel it back down Whitecross Road, And park it at Plough Lane, All this talk of wheelie bins, Is driving me insane! I think I'll stick with refuse bags, And my trusty old dust bin, It may not have the wheelie wheels, But it does what it says on the tin! -
Hi Stupid Frustration, I was a tad alarmed when I read your post about the River Island building, it sounds as if it is just going to be left. In the HT a few weeks ago, the impression was definitely given that the council were going to get to grips with this, and use powers to make the owner of the building sort it out. Has this now stalled? (I think there is a link to the HT story on another thread, but I can't find it at the moment!)

Hereford in top 10 for car exhaust pollution
dippyhippy replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Morning Green Knight, and welcome to Hereford Voice! Don't worry - it has taken me an age to get used to all the whistles and bells on this forum! It's just great to see a new poster commenting, so don't let the odd technical mishap stop you!! -
Hereford in top 10 for car exhaust pollution

Hi Ragwert! I would also love to see the County Bus Station moved to the railway station, and create the transport hub, which we have been told WILL happen. But! I would then like to see the new fire station built on the County Bus Station site! There would now appear to be another site for the fire station in the pipeline......so if that was the case, then yes, your suggestion would sound like a good one! -
Cracking idea, Growl - I think this could work! Appearing on a television screen near you........... "Guns 'n' Buns" One mans mission to clean up the council.......armed only with razor sharp humour, and a croissant! What's not to like???

I could never understand why anybody thought having a bus station on a busy roundabout would be a good idea. Some really interesting stuff in those links! -

Yes Cambo. I intend to check if he claimed for attending this meeting. We should not be handing over money to someone who is quite literally, asleep on the job. -

I completely agree Two Wheels. We need retail outlets in High Town, not an endless mix of phone shops, bookies and charity shops. There is nothing wrong with these establishments, but it's all about getting the balance right. Of course nobody wants to see empty premises, but to my mind, it is retail shops that need to be encouraged. Folks who will meander around the centre, stop for a bit of lunch......not sit on a gaming machine all day. -

My thanks go to HT poster Little red fox, who attended the meeting, and confirmed that it was Brigadier Jones who fell asleep. Let's hope he was one of the two who abstained. After all, how can you come to a reasonable desicion when you have slept through the arguments?? -

Anyone else catch this lunchtime's Midlands Today?? A report on todays meeting about the proposed cuts to fire cover in Hereford was the lead story. The reporter stated that "one member of the panel fell asleep - which did not go down well." No names given though! -
New Black Bins, Max 4 Bags a Fortnight - f*** Off
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Well the good folks of Whitecross are having the black wheelie bins delivered at the moment.......and thankfully, I have NOT received one! Somebody somewhere has answered my prayer to the Gods of Household Refuse! -
This could have extremely far reaching consequences. I am all for any measures to prevent terrorism, or the rising tide of extremism, but the way this is open to interpretation means that many, many folk who legitimately want to voice their opinion, could well be targeted. This could be a very slippery slope indeed.
