  1. Really??????? Blimey, that's news to me Paul!! I'll see if I can find the article I was reading, and point you in the direction of it....I would be very interested to hear your thoughts!!
  2. Well....in that case, it certainly isn't going to "enhance and improve" the conservation area where it's going to sit! We need to get busy!!
  3. Oooh!! A tax free lump sum eh???? Drinks, kebabs and taxies home are on you then!!! Very, very funny!!!!
  4. That sounds about right, Growl. At least the NHS have now vetoed the use of compromise agreements. I'm not saying for one minute everything is perfect there - but at least they have acknowledged that the use of these orders is wrong. That has to be a step in the right direction.
  5. I wish they would just put forward a motion of no confidence in the cabinet, and have done with it.
  6. Oh, for crying out loud. It's always the same...one step forward, and two steps back.
  7. Hi Roger, sorry for the delay in replying! I walked the Ash Path again yesterday....and they appear to be dredging it!! I think someone must be reading these threads!! The Ash Path - when it's maintained - is great! I have walked it at all times of the day and night! Just me and the dog, and I feel quite safe. I believe that Bulmers CCTV covers at least half of the path going up towards Yazor Road. It was better when the cut through onto the old Whitecross School site was open, as you could nip across, and back onto the main road if it was late. Now you either have to turn around and go back the way you came, or carry on up to the top! I was told that this would be opened up again once the site was developed, but that all seems to have ground to a halt...again! The lighting could be improved, but it's the overgrown trees and shrubs that make it seem a little scary at the moment.....even I'm not too keen on walking down there in the dark at the moment!! There is quite a bit of wild life to be seen.....squirrels, foxes....I have even seen the odd badger! There are bats in the early evening, and .....rats! Yes, I know they have always probably been there...but I saw two large brown ones on the path yesterday....eeek!!!! They are usually on the bank by the stream (which I had previously posted, isn't flowing...and is completely dry at the Bulmers end) but they are now wandering around the paths as well!! Hopefully, if the stream gets going again, they will be back on the bank!!
  8. I am quite shocked at the lack of comments on this thread. Do the majority think that what has occurred is all fine and dandy?? This forum is called Hereford Voice - to give us the opportunity to make ourselves heard! Yet the silence from those who really should have an awful lot to say about this, is quite frankly, deafening.
  9. Well, my posting pals, the road resurfacing has begun! The diversion is in place, the cones are out and lots of heavy duty machines have arrived on site. Starting with.............Plough Lane!! I don't know how far up Plough Lane they are intending to go........... Hope some of the other side streets are going to get some attention. Holmer Street, and Whitehorse Street seems to me, to be in a far worse state than Plough Lane. But hey, what do I know??
  10. The councils web page says 18.00 'til midnight.....so I think I may have got this right???? But I will check again with my own two eyes!
  11. I'm pretty sure it was 18.00!! But now you've said.....maybe I am wrong! Wouldn't be the first time!! I shall wander around with the dog again later.....so will double check!!
  12. Just come down Whitecross Road, and the large, yellow information sign now says the road will be closed from 18.00hrs!! It should only be for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night....but be warned that Westfaling Street and Grandstand Road will probably be very busy!!
  13. According to a report on The Hereford Times, 13 police officers have been investigated for inappropriate use of social networking sites. (Sorry I cannot provide a handy link!!) Thoughts please!
  14. It absolutely is Paul, and it's high time that it was brought to an end. The "recycling" of staff who have failed miserably elsewhere, then turn up in yet another highly paid role, quite simply has to stop.
  15. post 586 0n page 24 is what I have been referring to Chris!!
  16. But......if the details of WHY they were "let go" isn't public knowledge.....there is nothing to stop them getting another highly paid role, and possibly carrying on as before??? There are those in authority that know full well what has gone on, yet choose to say nothing, and allow this kind of behaviour to continue.
  17. Thanks for that, Paul. I find it quite despicable that folks in a position of authority, have bullied disabled staff, have kept their job, and had the whole sorry mess conveniently swept under the carpet. For some insane reason, I thought the victims were the ones who were supposed to be protected.......
  18. I would hope, Two Wheels, that many Councillors will read this and comment.
  19. A very warm welcome to you, Paul. Your reputation goes before you!! Point 19. "settlements contain clauses relating to the need to keep the contents confidential which are binding for all parties." Is this council speak for a gagging clause?? Has this been used "between 10 and 20 " times?? This absolutely stinks. Why are bullies being protected like this??
  20. I see that there is to be an open day at this property on Saturday.....1.00 - 3.00. So Two Wheels, you may get the chance to go and have a look around!
  21. I seem to remember reading that on the original ESG plans, there WAS a new police station?? Then it was dropped. Can't recall if I read this here, or on HT. The ambulance service have just spent a not insignificant amount of money refurbishing and modernising their Ross Road base, and loads of money has been spent on a stop gap solution to the police base. I get the feeling the fire service do not actually WANT to share premises.
  22. Two kayakers have been found following a four hour search. Good, I'm glad they're safe and well. But am I the only one wondering why on earth folks were kayaking down the River Wye at 3 O'clock in the morning.......???
  23. I thought the Bath Street site was being swapped, not sold....????
  24. "The Journey".....??? Christ, this is sounding more like an X Factor audition than a job description! As Mr Cowell would say......distinctly average.
  25. Pssst! Don't tell anyone, Biomech, but I'm pretty sure they don't have a clue either!
