Cabinet control of Herefordshire Council could end soon
dippyhippy replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
"Fighting for cabinet to stay." I appreciate that as you have said, Chris, this is not your letter in its entirety.......but this is quite a big stick to be grasping the wrong end of! The article isn't credited.....but it would be highly unusual for Bill Tanner to miss the gist of things. I also strongly believe that named votes are crucial, if we are to ever move towards a system that truly promotes openness, transparency and accountability.- 70 replies

Brilliant! Cheers Flam, that was just the picture I wanted! Harry and Barry.......separated at birth! And Tony and Trish too!
-
Oh. My. God. This drivel just gets worse. It's like some weird verbal diarrhoea. Somebody, please - make them stop.
-
Yes! That's him! Can you post a photo, Flam?

Precisely Cambo. It's a complete eye sore. And tourists certainly don't visit Hereford for the OLM development! They are far more likely to want to spend time in the historic core of the city. We have a duty to protect and preserve these buildings. When Debenhams free rent expires and they leave, it's High Town that will still be standing. It's up to us to ensure it's still standing in as good as condition as possible!

I'm liking those questions Denise! I'd also like to ask the whole panel......have they also noticed the uncanny resemblance, between Harry Bramer, and the biscuit boy from the Cravendale milk advert?? Google it! It's incredible! Neat hair, eyes too close together.......see for yourselves!

I wonder if Colin WOULD submit a few on behalf of members....?? I'll wait and see how many we can come up with, and pm him! I think I would ask something about the likelihood of the transport hub being created, and would it not make sense to bring this forward to free up the bus station for the new fire station. I'd also like to know precisely how many compromise agreements have been signed since 2012, and how much this has cost us.

Tee Hee! Oh this little lot will do nicely for starters!

All very pertinent questions, Flam. Are you suggesting that you would like him to answer them at the forthcoming debate? I get the feeling he's not going to sign up to Hereford Voice anytime soon!

Fraudulent banks, utility companies and corrupt courts
dippyhippy replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Snap Two Wheels! I was with Alliance and Leicester, and they too were swallowed up by Santander. Within 12 months, I had closed my account and changed my mortgage. When I wanted the cash out of my account, I had to give them 48 hours notice - which I did. Went to collect it, only to be told both of the safe "key holders" have to be present, and as one was on lunch, could I come back. I was on MY lunch break! By the time I had finished work that day, guess what? The bank was closed, with my money still inside. -
Oh dear me. There's that word again. Transforming. Isn't "change and transformation" what Mike Dearing, formerly of Hoople, ran off to do in Swindon?? I wouldn't mind betting that for £50,000......he'd quite like to come back to Hereford, and try his hand at transformation here! Then we really will have gone round in circles. Again.

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I walked the dog up the Ash Path, from the back of Bulmers to Yazor Road. Several trees blew down in the January gales.....they are still there in August. There is no water in the lower part of the stream, the top field has just received it's first cut of the year...following the grass fire on the lower field,( the old Whitecross school playing field.) After time and money were spent clearing the banks and the brook, the whole path from top to bottom is a completely overgrown mess. It's going to take some serious effort and man hours to get this back to looking even half decent.- 427 replies

Hereford Council Leader Wants Opposition to Fix His Problems
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Flam - I am bumping this thread back up to the front page for you!! -
Oh most definitely! He'll be in the ale house as we speak! His audience will be enthralled as he regales them with wild yarns about cannons, nettles, tame 'raptors and hand reared ferrets, and other brave tales of derring do ! (And nobody has questioned the comment I made which called us all Muppets!!) Harmony restored!!

Flam, have a read through the thread "There Will Be No Coalition In Hereford." I would have posted on it to bring it back to the front page, but comments are no longer allowed! It's taken me an age to find, but I knew it had been discussed. There was no way either IOC or The Independants were going to jump into bed with the Conservatives....and quite rightly so!! Also check out the thread "Hereford Council Leader Wants Opposition To Fix Problems." for lots more background....sorry I cannot do the handy link thing!!- 70 replies

From this weeks printed Hereford Times..... "Readers will have the chance to quiz some of the county's most influential decision makers during a debate next month! The leader of Herefordshire Council, Cllr. Tony Johnson is among four panellists chosen to debate issues that matter to Herefordshire residents during a Question Time style debate. He will be joined by Lucy Hurds, the Lib Dem candidate, Cllr Anthony Powers, leader of IOC and Liz Morawiecka, fron the Here4Hereford group." "We hope it will be a bit like the TV programme," said John Bothamley, chair of Hereford Civic Society which has organised the event. The fun and games will take place at St Johns Methodist Church on St Owen Street, on September 18th. Start time - 7.30pm. Some of us will remember that a similar event took place last year....the now infamous Kindle Centre Debate....with Jonathon Bretherton and Patricia Morgan. (Bus shelter slide show anyone????) Anyone who wants to ask a question on the night, needs to first submit it to HT editor Clive Joyce. Sooooo.......What would we like to ask then????????????

I believe you, Growl! Try....Moby D!ck...that kind of works!!

Ubique my friend!! You, and others are completely missing the point of this thread!! It's not about Nick Semper. It's not about anybody saying Bobby is a bully - because we know they didn't and it wasn't intended to come across that way!!! It's about on line comments generally, and how they can be interpreted - and we've had some worrying interpretation on this very thread!! Can you unintentionally upset folks with your comments and thoughts?? How far is too far before the line has been crossed?? This "on line" or virtual bullying IS a very real problem which causes so much misery. This is the only forum I contribute to, with the odd foray back to HT, so I know little about what other sites are like. Are they not moderated??
