Ten days left to vacuum up a powerful cleaner
dippyhippy replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Sooooo......for how long will I be able to purchase a legitimate and powerful hoover? At what point, will I have to go onto the black market to buy an "under the counter" hoover which actually does the job it's manufacturers intended it to do? What penalties will be introduced to combat "hoover dealing"? If I nip down to Curry's after the 1st of September, will I not be able to get one? I have to say, 1600 is ridiculous......and 900 is beyond a joke. I actually sneeze an awful lot if there's dust! It's my bodies way of reminding me to vacuum thoroughly! I shall be permanently snivelling and sniffing with a 900......surely this somehow infringes on my human right to live in a clean and dust free environment?? I think I may have a case! -

Yes....mine's an 1800, and I don't find it particularly powerful! I had been thinking about going for a dyson, as they are supposed to be great at picking up dog hair! I mean, what's going to happen to all those hoovers currently on sale? What are the manufacturers going to do? This is a ridiculous situation! -
Haunted Old Crow Cottage, in Willersley, Herefordshire

Thanks for the update on the update! Great to see your "cats in the window" photo, and memories of the house now included - it really is a fascinating history. -

Cabinet control of Herefordshire Council could end soon
dippyhippy replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Brilliant! I can't wait for this vote - and it's great to hear that at last, The Independants, IOC and The Lib-Dems are all singing from the same hymn sheet! Will we be allowed to know who voted in favour/against I wonder......although maybe the conservatives already know the game could well and truly be up, as far as keeping the Cabinet system is concerned. This could very well be the beginning of the end.- 70 replies

Fraudulent banks, utility companies and corrupt courts

I wonder how long this will take to get to court? -
I swear my allegiance to The Great British Potato, and will endeavour to ensure that whatever form it is in - be it, baked, mashed, boiled or chipped - it is British in origin. I also promise to do my best, serve Our King and uphold the Brownie Guide Law.

Well done Colin! Brilliant to see the evidence that these speculative invoices will not be upheld! A real victory for common sense!

Buckingham Pub To Become A Tesco Express
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Broomy Hill & Breinton
Well.....according to a banner that has gone up, the new Tesco will open on September 23rd. There is no information about opening hours, but I guess we will know soon enough! -
Hi Adrian! Great to see you posting! This is good news, another poster on another thread - I think it was Ragwert - also said that Venns Lane was finally going to be resurfaced. Let's hope that finally, some proper, permanent repairs are going to be carried out, and not just cheap, temporary ones!

Herefordshire Council's children's services 'requires improvement'
dippyhippy replied to Roger's topic in Open Forum
Eunice Spry is pure evil. There is no other word for the atrocities she inflicted on those children. I cannot fathom how this woman could ever even be considered for release - and yet she was due for release last month, serving barely half of her sentence. She has apparently applied to live in Worcestershire. In my opinion, she should not be allowed to live anywhere near to where her victims are still trying to rebuild their lives. Yet it seems her right to choose where she would like to live, trumps their rights to never, ever have to run the risk of seeing this woman again. -
No, I don't wander through very often. I have been into Waitrose......and I did make a purchase. I also looked suitably shamed faced when I 'fessed up to Bobby, that I'd eaten an OLM rice salad with walnuts!

Yippeeeee!! This is great news! Whitecross Road has been in desperate need of some care and attention for ages! It would have been even better if they could have gone down as far as Rye land Street, as that lower stretch isn't wonderful either, but never mind. Thanks for posting the Ubique, it's nice to hear some positive news!
-
And you are Bobby, absolutely you are. A fine, considerate man I mean. Not a big headed tw*t. That would be rude.

Oh.....If ONLY Mark Hubbard fancied standing as an MP......he'd have my vote. Hi Phil, I know the day case ward isn't the best place to be.......but I've been to quite a few third world countries, and honestly, the two do not compare! We have problems, don't get me wrong.....but in the big scheme of things, we really have an awful lot. That doesn't mean to say we shouldn't strive to improve things though.....as you quite rightly point out, the front line staff are pushed to the limit. There simply are not enough beds. The situation is also pretty bad at Worcester. The issues with our hospital, is one area that Jesse has been pretty vocal about. Good to see you posting again.....it's been a while hasn't it??

I went to see Santa at Clearwell Caves a couple of years ago......at least, I HOPE it was Santa, and not Harry in disguise!!
-
I hate to have to be the one to break this to you, Cambo - but have you considered that Harry might be avoiding you?? Perhaps he's none too keen on visitors.......!!!!
-
Morning Ubique! Honestly, not even a glass or two of red could have tempted me! And I can't imagine Jesse in The Commercial!
-
Blimey, that's bad news. Quite a trek up to Kington to see a doctor. So.......does anyone know who will be standing against Jesse? I'm assuming the Lib Dem candidate is still Lucy Hurd?? And what about our councillors....when will they have to declare if they are standing again?? By the way Megilleland, I agree, Jesse is approachable.....in that regard much better than Paul Keetch, although saying that, you could always get hold of Paul, usually to be found holding court at Gilbies....!!
-
Anyway, the purpose of the get together, is to "organise and brief everyone about the re-election campaign." And to launch the 2010 - 2014 Parliamentary Report, which he has been working on over the summer. I would have thought whoever sifts through the emails really should have sorted them into two piles. Those likely to have a foot in Camp Jesse, and would welcome an invite - and those who definitely don't!! However, it is a reminder(as if we need one!) that we all need to be thinking about next Mays election. And it's got me wondering......... When will Bramer, Morgan. Johnson, Jarvis et al, have to announce if they are standing again???
-
Not quite sure what I have ever said to qualify for receiving todays email from Jesse Norman! Am I free on September 5th and 6th to assist on two volunteering days.....? Errr, no. Not even the promise of tea and biscuits - even chocolate ones - at either Saxon Hall, or Clehonger Village Hall can tempt me.

Husband killed wife after gypsy camp battle : Ledbury
dippyhippy replied to Roger's topic in Police & Crime
An absolutely tragic outcome, for this couple who were so devoted to each other. My thoughts are with the family and friends, who must be struggling to come to terms with this horrendous chain of events. Life is so very precious. They must have felt incredibly desperate.- 15 replies

I see that Morrison's are going to extend their opening hours. They will open at 7.00am and close at 10.00pm. Which more or less brings them in line with Sainsbury.
