  1. Hi Roger! I always think very carefully before I post a single comment. I do believe that as individuals we are all accountable for the content of our posts. I would certainly never want to post anything deliberately hurtful, or untrue. It's really not about "bad mouthing" it's more about exposing things, they would rather remain quiet about. This really is about deeper problems/issues.Things that folk really need to be aware is going on, but could make life extremely uncomfortable. That said, I would stand by every word I have ever posted. Have you read Flams excellent link? The fate of a whistle blower in Hereford, is generally not a happy one! Hence the need for self preservation......but I take my hat off to you!
  2. Barrs Court, Flam......C'mon, keep up!!
  3. I think a lot of issues surrounding this have already been discussed on a previous thread.....would it be worth merging them, so that all the relevant information is available in one place??
  4. Actually Glenda,I am the secret love child of one of the members of the cabinet......that is why I cherish my anonymity.........it would be highly embarrassing on so many levels, for so many people! Any information you get regarding BC would be most welcome.....there are enough questions on that thread that really need answering!
  5. Hi Denise, from what I can gather, the bins are to prevent bags being torn open, keep odour down, and hopefully keep the rodents at bay. I understand that you can apply to have a larger bin provided if you think you're going to need it. Some properties will not have these bins as there is no suitable access. Some streets though, will have rows and rows of wheelie bins on show. Highly attractive. Not. I actually don't have a problem with fortnightly collections. (And I live in a street where there will be no wheelie bins!)We recycle loads, and don't produce much black bag waste. I can see it being an issue for a lot of folks though.
  6. Thanks! Sometimes, all you can do is laugh.....or cry, or bang your head against the wall, or rock quietly in the corner!
  7. Ring Ring! Ring Ring! Good Morning Caller - you are now connected to Herefordshire Council Switchboard. Please listen carefully to the following options. Press 1, if you would like to complain about the grass. Press 2, if you would like to complain about the pot holes. Press 3, if you would like to complain about the incinerator project and subsequent debt we will be amassing. Press 4, if you would like to complain about the council selling off/giving away/swapping/transferring valuable assets. Press 5, if you would like to complain about Mr. Johnson, Mr. Bramer, Mrs.Morgan or Mr Jarvis. Press 6, if you would like to complain about the burnt out shell in High Town. Press 7, if you wold like to complain about vulnerable residents day centres begin closed. Press 8, if you would like to complain about the ludicrous amount of money being spent on Plough Lane HQ. Press 9, if you would like to complain about directors/managers/heads of service being appointed, after they appear to have failed miserably elsewhere in the country. Looks like they have run out of buttons to press for the rubbish collection!
  8. And still no mention of the third Head Teacher to be appointed in just a matter of months....... How very strange.
  9. That's all fine and dandy Glenda. However when your employers take an extremely dim view of any criticism - constructive or otherwise - people do need to be careful. There have been many, many issues raised on these pages which would never had been aired if it weren't for the fact posters can comment anonymously - or should we all keep our heads down and say nothing about what we know is happening?? Perhaps that would be best. You are quite right, you are one of the few councillors who respond to the many queries - however, even you dodge some of the more contentious issues.....what has been happening at Barrs Court for example. Some of us may choose to remain anonymous.....but on the whole, councillors choose -and rather carefully in my humble opinion - precisely which topics they will and will not engage with. I suppose the point I'm trying to make, is that it is neither right nor wrong whether you choose to post anonymously.....just as I respect the fact that you post under your name, I would ask that you respect the reasons that some of us have for posting anonymously! I have given you a green press, to show there are no hard feelings!
  10. It is neither here no there, whether cannabis is for me or not, I shall neither confirm nor deny! However, a few of my lovely neighbours are rather fond of a spliff - and on these hot summer night, with the aroma wafting up through my bedroom window, I have to say, I have never slept so well!
  11. Morning Glenda! Many of us post anonymously - for various reasons, and this shouldn't be criticized. Some, work for the council, or have another position, where there could be repercussions for airing their views. It doesn't make those views any the less valid, or worth hearing. To be honest, if all those who posted anonymously didn't comment, there would be very little activity upon these pages!!
  12. You are quite right on this one, Bobby . Nailing heads to doors is most definitely an East End thing. Of course, should you find yourself in a spot of bother in Merthyr Tydfil, it's your feet you need to watch out for. They're very keen on nailing things to feet over there......preferably a small bedside table, or lamp stand! Mind, if you do find yourself with a door nailed to your head, and you intend to stagger into The Commercial for something medicinal, please could you be so kind as to give me some advance warning? So that I can film it? That £250. quid I'd get from You've Been Framed, would come in very handy!!
  13. Yes, it's definitely there! I walked down there today, to see it with my own two eyes - and there is definitely a taxi rank in Broad Street! Looking at Rogers photo, I thought there would be room for about six taxis, but it actually only looks big enough for four. Completely empty though! Tesco - once again - was rammed! (And two of them, had no driver in them.....perhaps they had nipped to the loo....??)
  14. Thanks for the photo! You're quite right......it's not often full, otherwise I'm sure I would have noticed that it was a taxi rank by now! I walk down there regularly! So, if the rank here is under utilised, and Tescos' rank is heaving under the strain.....surely there should be some way around this?
  15. I can't believe I didn't know there WAS a taxi rank on Broad Street! There you go, you learn something new every day! But it does beg the question, just how many people realise that there is a taxi rank here?
  16. I met Ranulph Fiennes! He was lovely, really interesting, he's had an amazing life! Gave me a hug.........!!! GridKnocker......what are you trying to do to me? You have firmly planted an image of Trish in my head, which I am struggling to erase - and guaranteed to give me nightmares!
  17. Quite right! There shouldn't be!
  18. I think you may be right here Roger, forgive my ignorance, but is there a reason why another taxi rank could not be created? Obviously Wide marsh Street has been lost, and Commercial Road is evenings only. What about Broad Street as a location? Would this help to improve things, or would it just clog up another area?
  19. Hi Aylestone Voice, This issue has rumbled on for ages. Do you remember the story about the car that had parked, obstructing the rear access of All Saints Church, and the vicar had to try to scramble over it to unlock the fire escape? Apparently, the wording on the parking restriction signs in the area is incorrect and makes any action unenforceable. I think Ubique's post covers most things!
  20. So as well as the good folk of The Wirral, we also have plenty in common with the good folk of Wiltshire. Well, we already know that "change and transformation" are taking place there......sounds as if they are as keen on it as we were!!
  21. Hi Flam, Glenda's post on page 14 of this thread (post number 334) would seem to answer this query.
  22. The thing is, we have long suspected that various members of the ruling elite, have tried to influence what is and isn't reported in The Hereford Times. Now, we pretty much have it confirmed. As with Hereford Futures, we aren't meant to find out what goes on - "transparency" is a dirty word - but we will!! As Denise points out, it will be interesting to see how long this story remains online - and if comments will be allowed for much longer!
  23. Wow. Their arrogance is quite breathtaking. We need to question, not blithely accept what the council tell us is good for us - and we all owe Bill Tanner a drink or two, for continuing to report the facts. Long live the free press indeed!!
  24. Thanks for the info, Roger! It seems there's a long way to go, to stopping this........
