  1. Paperchase is already open isn't it?? I think Joules are also due to open fairly soon. Will the H&M remain open in High Town I wonder...??
  2. Fantastic result! Well done Terry, and well done IOC!!
  3. Hey Flam! I've just spotted on the new members list that "BBC Hereford and Worcester" have signed up! The HT may not want to know what's going on......but the BBC do! Could we finally be getting somewhere after all this time?? Will those chickens be coming home to roost?? I hope so.
  4. A "Business Showcase.......?" Blimey.......if any other county was interested in getting BB on board, they should visit Hereford pronto! We could "Show" them many "Cases" to convince them not to do "Business" with them!
  5. I think it's fair to say that whoever the legal eagle was, who cast their eye over the BB contract, really isn't fit for purpose! Surely there are grounds for this to be renegotiated? It's a ten year contract! If this year is anything to go by, the next nine don't look too promising, do they??
  6. What a mess. How's the petition going Colin? The summer holidays are on the horizon, and the city looks dreadful for both residents and tourists alike. At what point, is someone going to throw their hands in the air, and declare, " We got it wrong. This won't save money, in fact it's costing money." I shan't hold my breath.........!!
  7. Veggie food sounds FAB! I'm home this weekend, so may wander down......weather permitting! Hope it's well supported!
  8. Walked past The Baptist Church today....and saw Herefords' Smallest Festival in full swing! I didn't have time to stop for a coffee unfortunately, but it all looked very vibrant, very busy and very welcoming! Hope it's been a success!
  9. Evening Bambi! It's good to see you posting again!
  10. Evening Slim! I'm sure you'll do just fine on here.......I have been on a recruitment drive for new posters, so am delighted that you have opinions you are keen to share! I look forward to hearing from you!
  11. Bill Norman. The Heckler have done quite a bit on this individual!
  12. A very warm welcome to you, Slim! I hope you are go in to be a regular contributor! It's always great to hear new points of view and perspectives!
  13. Was this the only item stolen? What I'm asking I suppose is, do the thieves actually know what they've got?? If they don't......they may sling it, but I think it was stolen to order, and whoever wants it that badly, has probably paid a handsome price for this. My operational name suggestion would be, "Operation - Cup Half Empty." Of course, should the police track down the culprits, this should immediately be changed to, "Operation - Cup Half Full."
  14. "Theresa May getting a good grilling today on current issues - regarding Butler-Sloss." Really pleased to hear this woman has stepped down from heading up this inquiry - there was an obvious conflict of interest, and many groups representing victims of abuse had been uneasy at her appointment. There now needs to be a drive forward that leaves no stone unturned. After decades of cover ups and lies, nothing else will do. Whilst talking about cover ups......extremely interesting interview with David Tombs, former head of Social Services in Hereford and Worcester. If you didn't catch it, it's well worth viewing. BBC Midlands Today.
  15. Ah! These must be the posts that I mentioned in post 30, above! I was curious about the salaries that went with them, so thanks Megilleland for posting this info! On the "featured jobs" thingy, on HT, all these posts have the word - Hereford, next to them. From this I assume that we will soon feel a much greater presence from Marches LEP. There is also Marches LEP directors post advertised here!
  16. The Daily Mail?? I need say no more.
  17. Recently resurfaced eh?? Gosh, how fortunate is that...... Anybody else had the leaflet and follow up email from Jesse Norman?? Two Wheels will like this.....a promise of 6000 jobs for the enterprise zone! Doesn't say when that's likely to happen though!
  18. I don't know much about fishing! However, there was a fairly in depth report on this very issue on the news last night - and it's serious stuff. If this was foxes, or badgers, folks would be up in arms about it. The effect that this illegal activity is having on our lakes and rivers, cannot be condoned, and needs to be dealt with pretty swiftly. I would suggest that only a chunky fine may have any effect. Hit the offenders in the pocket. I would also suggest, that if children are caught, their parents are fined - it might make them a little more responsible for their off springs behaviour.
  19. You just couldn't make this up, could you? I despair. I absolutely despair.
  20. Errr, So, have I got this right.......we are paying Balfour Beatty to cut the grass, we are able to access community grants from the council to cut the grass ourselves, and now we are also paying a Surrey based firm to cut it as well??? Remind me again how much money this is saving us.........???
  21. I see Michael Gove has just lost his Secretary For Education post!
  22. That's a ridiculous thing for them to say! How on earth can they predict whether a subject specific teacher will be required? I see The Robert Owen School, now have a "Banner" advertisement, stretching across the top of the HT online page. They need fulltime, part time and supply teaching staff......which begs the question, just how many staff do you need to educate 20 students????
  23. I thought Hoople had undertaken a lot of the recruitment process? The council have now torn up the trusty supply list of teachers for schools, and even they have to go via Hoople now - yet the accredited supply list has worked perfectly well for many years........
  24. I see that Marches LEP are advertising for five members of staff to be based in Hereford. One post is for a director. I wonder what the salary for this post will be......and will it be a face that is already known to us??
