Dog attack on young girl in Leominister.
dippyhippy replied to John Harrington's topic in Open Forum
Quite right John. It is all about balance. There are far too many folks, who can quote chapter and verse, their rights, whilst seemingly shrugging off any responsibility. People need to wake up to the fact that rights and responsibilities, go hand in hand. -

It's hard to believe that people could stand back and watch this situation unfold in front of their eyes, and NOT do something to try and help. A few years ago, I was out walking my dog - on a lead - and he was attacked repeatedly by another dog, whose owner had absolutely no control over it. Whilst their dog did not bite me, it was more interested in trying to rip my terrier apart, it was a truly frightening experience. The other dogs owner eventually caught hold of it, but didn't even have a lead to put it on. When I said that could have been a child your dog has just attacked, I was given a right mouthful, and he walked off. I strongly believe ALL dogs should be kept on leads in public places, unless otherwise designated. And some owners could do with being muzzled. -

According to a report from West Midlands Ambulance Service, three women were attacked by two dogs. Two women were taken to Hereford Hospital, whilst the third who sustained serious injuries, was flown by air ambulance to Birmingham. This is horrific. Those women must have been terrified. -
Thanks for posting this Megilleland - it's renewed my faith in mankind. What an incredible thing to do.

It's an awful way to live, and one I don't think many would choose. Two years ago, during one of the longest and coldest winters in a long time, I realised there were two people sleeping in the front porch/door of Holy Trinity Church. These folks are someone's son or daughter. There are no easy answers to this, the reasons are so complex, and one solution most definitely does not fit all. Sadly, with so many cuts to services, and some voluntary groups stretched, it may become an increasing problem. As a society, that reflects very badly on us all. We are all human. We can all show a little more humanity .

How awful. I hope this young girl recovers from this horrendous ordeal. -
There has been much discussion on the road heading East. I seem to recall Jesse Norman quoting a figure which would include another river crossing, and still being significantly LESS than the proposed costs involved for the so called Link Road.

Mine arrived in the post today!

I absolutely hope you're right Two Wheels.....there are so many who just need to go. When do they have to announce if they are intending to stand again?

Thanks Bobby! When I do eventually make retirement, I may eek out a hand to mouth existence writing alternative greetings to go in cards. Here are my thoughts on a rather special occasion...... The Wedding Anniversary. You pick your nose, And fart in bed, I've very often, Wished you dead. But, you're not. We're both still here, So let's celebrate, Another year! By D.Hippy. What do you think???

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting

Megilleland, re your post above....with our council, it's most definitely a case of "Do as I say, not as I do." Wouldn't you agree? Excellent news for the Tupsley area though, another well done to Jim for getting HH to work with the community group!!- 427 replies

Yup! I'll second that!

Nice thought Ubique, but with Colin scooping on quite a few news stories - the results of the by election, if the Independants were going to accept Tony Johnsons kind invitation to join them, and the robbery at the bingo place in town -to name but a few, I feel it may be quite a one sided deal!!
-
And along these same lines.....the chap whose report recommended the incinerator, then when it was agreed, ran off to work for them!
-
And just to add, this could be absolutely brilliant for Hereford......we DO have so very much to offer. But most definitely NOT with Harry Bramer at the helm!
-
I'll bet he is looking forward to working with the Courtyard.....they need look no further when casting next years pantomime baddie!

Councillor Harry Bramer said the county brought "an amazing cultural history and a vibrant and diverse contemporary cultural scene." Cultural history?? This from the man who wants to demolish one of this cities most culturally historical buildings!! Did he even manage to keep a straight face when he uttered these words? This man wouldn't know culture, if it jumped up and bit him on the arse!

Saving The Working Boys Home *UPDATE*
dippyhippy replied to dippyhippy's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Hi Denise! Hay is my spiritual home.....and I intend to retire there, and go wandering in the Black Mountains whenever I feel like it!! Going back to objections....given how mass petitions have been treated, ie several thousand people sign, but they are only counted as seven objections because they are "organised", It would be better to have as many individual objections as possible. We need to draw up a short list of strong points ,which we can use to submit our objections. -
I'm afraid you won't be getting rid of us that easily Colin!! I for one, feel quite at home here!!

How Much! Herefordshire Council Offices Plough Lane
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Broomy Hill & Breinton
Does this factor in the refurbishment costs of The Shire Hall?? As our esteemed leaders have decided to move in here, from Brockington Towers?? These are eye watering amounts of money! -
I shan't be able to make this one, which is a shame because Martin Blake and his Whiskey River Boys are absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend any poster who wants to jig around like a lunatic tries to catch this band!

My dubious claim to fame, is that my old Dad once played alongside The Wurzels on stage, many years ago......top of the bill on that occasion, Bobby Crush!!! Yes, he with the piano and the finest assortment of frilled shirts any man could wish to own!!
