  1. Cheers Two Wheels! So here we have it then! The fire service are prepared to wait for a better site. The bus station is a better site. The bus station site will be surplus to requirements in two years. Bath Street could be redeveloped for much needed housing, as could potentially the fire station site. When put in its simplest form - and I know I am a simple soul - the outcome of this should be achievable, and blindingly obvious to everyone!
  2. "There are plenty of English people who are not particularly good neighbours, and have a lot of anti social behaviours." Quite right! The worst neighbours I ever had, were a couple in their late 50's. They complained about every little thing up and down our street! We have a great mix of folks on our little street......everybody says hello, and there is always a door to knock on if there's a problem! Some folks stay for a relatively short time, others for donkeys years! Families who moved in with young children, are now welcoming their grandchildren on visits! It takes many things to be a good neighbour - and it doesn't matter one jot where you come from, because at the end of the day if you get along..... "That's when good neighbours, become good friends!" As that well know soap opera says!!!!
  3. Hi Colin! Can I ask where all of the comments from this thread have disappeared to? There were a couple of pages worth from a variety of contributors, and some really useful links, particularly to FOI requests from Paul Cardin?? It may be that you have moved them.....if so, can you point me in the right direction??? Many thanks!
  4. I don't know if anybody else spotted this comment over at HT, but a poster says the actual grass cutting schedule was 14, not 7! For this to be reduced to just three, is pretty unbelievable. Its little wonder the place looks so unkempt and uncared for.
  5. Don't despair Denice! I have every faith that you'll soon have it sorted!
  6. I actually rather like the sound of this! Mulled Wine over late night Christmas shopping, and Pimms over Wimbledon fortnight sounds quite tempting! It would appear that they have aspirations to extend their menu somewhat, and if they are using and promoting local produce and suppliers, that can be no bad thing!
  7. Two Wheels posted a response to this point over on the HT thread about the plans being shown. Definitely have a read of it, and if possible, could you post a link to this HT story, so that we have all the information contained within this thread??? I shall thank you in advance for your help and kindness!!
  8. And a very warm welcome to you, George! Glad to see you also seem to have plenty to say for yourself!
  9. Evening Roger! I am with you on the drinking bit.....pubs and clubs really need to tighten up on serving folk who have hit the sherry too hard. My big gripe is that folk actually seem to refuse to take responsibility for their own actions, and get so inebriated, they can cause havoc! I can see where Stupid frustration is coming from on the numbers front.....does Herefords night scene actually have enough folks to sustain small, local businesses.....or would it not be worth their while with added staff costs etc.?? Then you are just left with the big players..... I have no clue......! But I am sure this debate will keep on a good while longer......after all , this topic has made HT's latest compilation list!
  10. Well, good on you! There's always plenty of topics being discussed, so jump right in!
  11. Good Grief John?? A Mel Gibson movie?? On a Sunday?? Things can't be that bad, surely?? Seriously though, thanks for this and your kind words of encouragement. They mean a lot!
  12. Welcome Paul !! It's always lovely to have new members who actually post! So many have signed up lately......C'mon you guys! Get posting, and join in the debates!!

Blimey! The list of Mr Hughes responsibilities is all encompassing! He seems to be responsible for just about everything apart from hiring the school nit nurse!
  14. Evening John! Thanks so, so much for this! A few of us have been discussing this, and one of our main concerns is the lack of any independent report on the Fire Station, and if it could actually be modernised and made "fit for purpose". Cambo has noted from the proposed plans that the new frontage, has less doors than the original. He wryly commented that they seem to have factored in the proposed cuts to the county fire service cover already. Handy...... Absolutely beyond ridiculous, that in one breath they speak of "promoting transparency" yet in the next, they are using any excuse under the sun not to divulge the reports full content.

This isn't the only serious issue that has been raised on these pages, there is a thread which contained many comments, all about ICT contracts! I shall endeavour to find it, and point you in the right direction....it's well worth a read through. Especially some of the FOI requests, that Paul Cardin asked for! This is odd!! It was the "You Don't Deserve Democracy" thread, if my memory serves me correctly! Having found it, it says there are only two comments, when I know there was quite a few pages worth!! Colin....what is going on????

Afternoon GDJ! I think you and I both thought this one would end in tears. The appointment to this position, was controversial right from the beginning. Serious questions now need to be asked, about payoffs, redundancy payments and ending up in another highly paid role.......

Well done Flam, and well done GDJ!! Excellent work! It will be interesting to see if HT do pick up on this now, and do a little investigating of their own......
  18. Evening Stupid frustration! A trial period, is an extremely good suggestion - the only fly in the ointment being HC being so adverse to trialling anything which comes under the heading of, 'A Jolly Decent And Common Sense Idea." It doesn't matter if its hot food, traffic lights or building a monstrosity in a conservation area.....if some bright spark comes up with a common sense solution, they don't want to hear it!
  19. That's really encouraging Colin!! I don't "do" social media, so I can't "share".............but, I CAN talk the hind legs off a donkey, so I ensure I spread the word that way!!
  20. Well said Bobby - I absolutely agree with everything you have said so eloquently. Flam, it just takes one person to decide they no longer have anything to lose, and the pack of cards will fall. One day mate, it will happen.
  21. Absolutely agree Cambo! Put this ugly beast in Merton Meadow, Rotherwas.....anywhere - except slap bang in the middle of a conservation area!
  22. Thanks for posting this Colin, and thanks to the anonymous supporter!

Errr, Colin.....what's going on?? I tried to post on this thread the other day, and it was "archived" and closed to comments..... Where am I going wrong?? I seem to be missing something here......!
  24. Brilliant Cambo! It's great to hear some positive news! You get today's "Dippy's Favourite Poster" award!!

I would have to agree, Bobby. It's fare thee well, to the HT......our time has come to part! Don't panic Denise! I think King Bobby just means HT, not quitting posting completely!
