Saving The Working Boys Home *UPDATE*
dippyhippy replied to dippyhippy's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
The thing is, it actually wouldn't cost much to re-site the buses. A few painted lines, a couple of perspex bus shelters, and laminated timetables! Crikey, even with my limited DIY skills, I'd be happy to give it a go for free! -

Heavens above! I have read this several times now Cambo, and I still don't think I'm any the wiser!! Most worrying, is that I have always held the belief that "Tog" was a warmth rating for my snuggly duvet - now, horror of horrors, I discover this is not the case! A "Tog" is a technical officers group......well, who knew??? I'm afraid I will need someone more fluent in gobbledegook to translate! Even an extra glass of wine hasn't helped....and that in itself is unusual!! -

Thanks for providing the link, Two Wheels. Much appreciated as always! Evening Cambo! There's a lot there to read through! I shall have to read it at least three times, to make any kind of sense of it..........! Be patient, and I shall respond! -
I posted this on another thread.....yesterday, staff from Sainsburys had to Marshall vehicles out of the car park....it was complete gridlock at 3pm. A member of staff said the traffic lights at the top, White cross Road/Aldi/Sainsbury, were not working correctly, and they thought there was also an issue with the sequencing of the lights at the bottom of White cross Road@ Steels. It was chaos! Hope that info helps, Magic!!

Afternoon Ubique! There is also a piece on HT from Harry B. Here, he says what a jolly good deal it is....absolutely the best thing for everybody. Cue, pats on the back all round. So successful, does Harry view this deal, where he gives away a valuable and irreplaceable piece of our history, for a plot of land half the size, that he intends to do it again! If anybody can put up a link......I will be very grateful! -

Well. Having just had a detailed update from Cambo, I am almost lost for words. I will just say this - I am in no doubt that Cllr Bramer reads these pages. This message is for you. You should be feeling extremely ashamed of yourself. You know why. -

Evening Ubique! I know what you mean, but even looking at the Pontrilas by election, a lot of folk thought the conservative candidate would get back in.....but no! Wizard Wonky won the race! I honestly think now, after all that has happened - they will be out! What we need to be doing is constantly refreshing people's memory, so that they don't forget the amount of costly mistakes they have made. -

GDJ, that is good to know! Trust me, there's nothing more embarrassing than seeing folk faint with excitement when they spot you queueing to buy broccoli in the Butter Market - it's a total nightmare! -

Glad to hear that Cambo! Two Wheels, I heartily agree with your last post - they have to go. They are eroding our city's heritage, history and character. They don't give two hoots for the folk who do actually live here, and for far too long they have got away with it. No more. Even if it takes until next Mays election, I know the tide will finally turn. There has been expensive mistakes following catastrophic failure, following gross incompetence. They have most definitely had their day. -
I know nothing about football! What I think would be a good idea, was if the Premier League teams, had to "buddy" a lower division team. Sort of, team mentoring if you like. They often do this in business, and it has mutual advantages. Imagine, for a moment, if a team like....oh, I don't know, Liverpool or Chelsea were partnered with Hereford.....maybe once a season let one of their players play for our local team....I bet the kids would be queueing around the block for a ticket! The expertise, as well as the wealth needs to be distributed a bit more evenly if this game is to survive at the lower level.

I think you have summed the problem up there, in your third paragraph, Megilleland. In my view, the unacceptable behaviour of a few, is making life miserable for many. This is what needs addressing. The landlord needs to spell out the consequences of what amounts to anti social behaviour. Why should a few tenants spoil it for the majority? Unless the root cause of this is dealt with, the problem will never go away, and in all probability, will sooner or later get significantly worse.

Evening Grid Knocker! It HAS been a glorious day! Hay on Wye looks even more lovely in the sunshine, and the beer garden at The Blue Boar, is a proper little sun trap - what a great way to while away a Sunday afternoon! Your post did make me chuckle....you are a spinner of yarns!! -

What a fabulous idea Wheezerweiner! And by the way, welcome to the forum! -
I tend to agree Frank, a big improvement. I would hope that folk will really take pride in their lovely new homes, and take good care of them!

Can't believe the complete lack of publicity surrounding this visit! I find it incomprehensible that some X factor reject, gets more of a write up when they appear at Play nightclub! Some of us know there is more to life than TV talent shows and reality programmes! In case you weren't aware Biomech, the online programme for Hay Festival is now available.....there is usually something for everybody! The founder of The Huffington Post is there, should be interesting! -
Hi Alex, I believe Colin has agreed to have a "page/forum" for Tenants Voice, within this site. Smartieno1, Your question about reporting Glenda to the standards committee...... My own thoughts are that you should not. I believe that both you and Glenda are doing what you honestly feel is best for the tenants who have issues they need help with resolving. You have much in common, but completely different approaches. That is not to say that one is right, and the other wrong. Different CAN be good! One of the greatest gifts we have is our ability to communicate with one another....words can be extremely powerful, they can soothe a soul, or start a war. Let's not waste this gift....keep the lines of communication open, keep talking, keep listening, and choose the words we use carefully! I promise you, there is plenty of common ground to be found as a starting point!

Cambo, I would love to be hiding in the shrubbery whilst you are banging on Cllr Bramers door, demanding an answer! I am away to the pub....purely medicinal , you understand, but very necessary after the week I've had! -
