dippyhippy Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 Hi Bambi! That was the gist of my post! The ILF money is being devolved from Central Government to local council, where it will NOT be ring fenced. Therefore, the most vulnerable are once again losing out, as the services they try to access are either being closed, or they have been priced out of using them. It's an absolutely disgusting thing to do, to this sector of our community. I am now a little more cynical when I hear them promising that the vulnerable will be protected. Quite clearly, they are not. Take care!
Biomech Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 A HEREFORD trader believes that something has to be done to help motorists after it was revealed that Herefordshire Council makes around £50,000 from people 'overspending' in car parks. How is this not illegal? Imagine going into a shop, giving them a £20 note for a packet of £4.50 cigarettes and them refusing to give you the change. The price of the ticket is advertised on the machine, taking more money than is due must be legally questionable?
dippyhippy Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 I quite agree, Biomech! £50,000 would be a not insignificant amount of money towards tidying this city up!!
Aylestone Voice Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Ah, but if on the shop doorway there was a sign stating that they do not give change on any purchase - how legal would that be?
dippyhippy Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 Oooh, Aylestone Voice........it might then be legal, but it would also be down right sneaky!!
Biomech Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 Ah, but if on the shop doorway there was a sign stating that they do not give change on any purchase - how legal would that be? I'm pretty sure that it would still be illegal in some roundabout way. Especially if the shop gave no alternative.
